Healthy Pets
Well Pet Services
We're not just here for the times when your pet gets sick. There are a range of services we provide that are aimed at keeping your four legged friends fit and healthy.
Vaccinations
Happily, in today's world, we see very little of fatal infectious diseases like parvovirus that once were common. The sole reason for this is vaccination. Vaccination is safe, vaccination is cost effective and if the rate of vaccination falls then these diseases will come back to haunt us. As such, we recommend that your pet visit the practice every year for it's health check up and vaccination.
Desexing
Dogs, cats and rabbits. We perform safe de-sexing operations, using modern techniques and medications on all of these species. All at a competitive price.
Tick Treatments and Advice
Tick season kicks off in spring and runs typically from October until June. The paralysis tick is a killer bug, with one bite being enough to induce a life threatening progressive paralysis in affected pets.
At Double Bay Vet Clinic we stock a range of preventative products to keep your pet safe. Drop in and chat to our team to find out what program is best for your pets.
Flea Treatments and Worming
Fleas and worms are at best a nuisance; at worst they could seriously harm your pet and your family. Heartworm is a killer of dogs and round worms can infect children leading to blindness, asthma and liver problems.
Why take a chance when a simple medication can protect your entire family safe all year round?
Health Assessments
Just as more and more people are getting proactive about their own healthcare, so it is with pets. Double Bay Vet Clinic offers the following life stage health checkups for your pet.
1. Puppy/Kitten Health Check-ups - to make sure the new member of your family gets off to the best start possible.
2. Annual Health Check-ups - We recommend your pet come to see us for a health assessment at least once every year.
3. Senior Health Check-ups - Kidney disease, arthritis and dental problems are only some of the conditions that can affect a pet as it ages. At Double Bay Vet Clinic we offer a full health check plus blood and urine tests to spot problems early.
Cattery
Our boutique cattery is the ideal place for your cat to stay when you jet off on your vacations. Whether it’s for a day, week or month, we would be delighted to look after and pamper your kitty.
Each cat has its own snug kennel and the cattery is a doggie free zone. We also use calming pheromone diffusers to ensure your cat’s stay is as relaxed as possible. (If your cat is on medication we will be delighted to ensure that it gets its treatments as required as well.)
Breeder Services
For responsible breeders we can offer a variety of options:
• Pregnancy diagnosis - blood tests or ultrasound is used.
• Kennel Club Hip and Elbow Scores.
• Whelping/Kittening advice.
Identification - Microchips and Tags
In NSW it is a legal obligation to have your doggie micro-chipped. They’re a cheap, permanent and painless way of identifying your pet in case they get lost, or stolen.
Pet Insurance
At Double Bay Vet Clinic we pride ourselves on delivering a fantastic level of pet and customer care, but realistically if it a serious problem there will be a significant cost. Insurance can be a godsend under these circumstances.
Because of this we recommend pet insurance to our clients.
